Living the dream
25 Jun 2016 Saturday Service – Dale Bronner
You don’t discard the old just to get something new.
9 Soon Joseph had another dream, and again he told his brothers about it. “Listen, I have had another dream,” he said. “The sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed low before me!” Gen 37:9 NLT
We are designed to bring the light to the world. Through our dreams!
Catch it, carry it and convey it!
You catch a dream from God. An idea, a vision, a thought. Whatever God has given you is only for a season!
Don’t try to deliver stuff that you just caught. You need to meditate on it, pray about it. Carry it in your spirit! Where you start in ministry is never where you end your ministry.
What you catch and carry depends on your capacity. The good news is that your capacity is not stuck or fixed! You have the ability to increase your capacity.
Problems are always fixed in their size, but you are not!
Fixed mindset: Believes you are who you are and cannot change
Growth mindset: Believes you can improve with effort
Memories replay our past.
You don’t get what you believe for. You get what you prepare for.
Money never starts an idea, it’s the idea that starts the money.
William J Cameron
One idea from God can revolutionize your life, and the world! Dreams are the substance of all great achievements.
Don’t ask children what they want to be when they grow up. Ask them what problems they want to solve! Growth mindset.
God’s answer to every problem is always a person! The person who gets an idea, who develops a strategy, who comes to with a new system, etc. God is not looking for systems or designs, He’s looking for a willing person! The right person is always the solution and the wrong person is always the problem.
27 But Jesus quickly spoke to them, “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
28 Peter said, “Lord, if it is really you, then command me to come to you on the water.”
29 Jesus said, “Come.” And Peter left the boat and walked on the water to Jesus.
Matt 14:27-29 (NCV)
The faith to step out is worthless without the faithfulness to stick it out. You have to have the faith to stick it out! It’s not how you start but how you finish it!
Hope is the blueprint, faith is the building material.
Hope tells you what you are building, it’s the dream! When you building material is stolen, you can always get more. But if your blueprint is stolen, you can never rebuild again, even if you have building material. You lose all drive and passion.
Don’t let the devil steal your hope!
3 Types of Dreamers
1. Those who wish for it
2. Those who wait for it
3. Those who work for it
You have to be a dreamer who’s willing to work for it. When in the bible did God ever call anybody to do something that was easy?
So why would you expect God in this time to ask you to do something easy?
Don’t let your dreams frustrate you. There may be problems and issues but don’t throw away your blueprint! Hold on, and hang in. God is the author and finisher, the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega. If God started it, He will finish it. God will give you finishing grace.
There’s a faith to start. There’s a grace to finish.
Faith is seeing the vision of God! The just shall walk by faith and not by sight. Faith is god vision, it’s not blind!
Don’t just sit there after you’ve gotten a dream. Wake up and walk it out.
Vision without action is a daydream.
Action without vision is a nightmare.
You show what you’re waiting on by showing what you’re working on. Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.
Dreams require risk.
Risk requires faith.
Faith requires the word.
And the Word requires your undivided attention.
The clearer your dream, the greater your faith. Dream in vivid colour! The clearer you can see it, the more it seems like it is true to you. Your mind will not be able to differentiate between the dream and reality. It will start preparing you for it! See whatever it is you want to believe God for.
You don’t let anyone minister to you if they have not gone through anything. You have nothing to share if you don’t have failures, problems experience, brokenness. Out of your brokenness now you have something to share!
Broken crayons still color! There’s a masterpiece in you. Don’t you stop because you’ve been broken, because you messed up.
The gifts of God are irrevocable! The gifts are still in your life!
