Transformed by Worship
04 Oct 2014 Service – Kong Hee
In the Tabernacle, the Altar of Incense was positioned in front of the Veil that separated the Holy of Holies from the Holy Place.
We carry the fragrance of Christ’s presence to the world.
15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 2 Cor 2:15-16
The goal of worship is to be transformed into the image of the One who is worshiped.
Jesus at the Mount of Transfiguration.
28 Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening. 30 And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. Lk 9:28-31
2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. Matt 17:2
“Transfigured” is “Metamorphosis” in Greek, which means “to change from one form to another.”
There are 2 times this word is used in the NT epistles :
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Rom 12:2
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor 3:18
#1 We must worship God with the REAL US
#2 We must look into the GLORY
#3 We must expect the HOLY SPIRIT to work in us
#4 We must allow the change to be PROGRESSIVE
15 not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men’s labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, 2 Cor 10:15
3 In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.
16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. Jn 1:16
19 My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you, Gal 4:19
