Sunday’s Coming

1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, Jn 13:1-2

Holy Thursday or Maundy Thursday
Maundy = mandate.

It  commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the apostles.

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Jn 13:34

11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. Jn 1:11

It was at this time that He was betrayed by Judas. Denied by Peter.

He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Isa 53:3

Sunday’s coming..

Good Friday
On Friday, Jesus was judged according to the law, although He did no wrong.

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. Isa 53:5

Sunday’s coming…

Black Saturday
It commemorates the day that Jesus Christ’s body lay in the tomb. Jesus was twisted and tormented in hell

All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isa 53:6

Your wrath lies heavy upon me,
And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Psa 88:7

Your fierce wrath has gone over me;
Your terrors have cut me off. Psa 88:16

Sunday’s coming…

and finally…

Easter Sunday!
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 1 Pet 3:18

21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Cor 5:21

Our faith is not built on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday or Black Saturday, but on Easter Sunday! When Jesus rose from the dead!
