God cares for the person.

For thus says the High and Lofty One
Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble,
And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Isa 57:15

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matt 5:13-14
God raises a people. Then God blesses a place.

What is the House of God like?
#1 A Place Worthy Of The Honour Of God
5 Now David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.” So David made abundant preparations before his death. 1 Chr 22:5

#2 A Place Where The Altar Of God Is Built
16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” 17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” Gen 28:16-17

A place of sacrifice, dedication. Also a place where God will manifest his power to those who are willing to seek him.
#3 A Place Of Revival And Reformation
1 Chr 7:1-18

31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31
#4 A Place Of Visions And Dreams
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
Acts 2:17

#5 A Place Of Encounters Followed By Equipping
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” Matt 4:10
#6 A Place Where Wise Stewardship Is Demonstrated
But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
1 Chr 29:14
#7 A Place Of Transformation And Testimony For God’s Glory
But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
2 Cor 3:18

 Commitment is the foundation for all relationships.
It’s not just a Kingdom of relationships, but a Kingdom of commitment.
If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.
2 Tim 2:13

God cannot be unfaithful, he is fully committed to us!

20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matt 28:20

16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.. Jn 14:16

We need to be committed as well!

4 Reasons Why Vows Are Important
1. Vows are an expression of love
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
Isa 49:15-16

When you are feeling hurt, criticised, discouraged, put down. Go back to your vows, when you made when you were a child, to follow and love God no matter what. I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back. We will be his disciples, and carry the cross.

My praise shall be of You in the great assembly; I will pay My vows before those who fear Him. Psa 22:25

5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation. 2 Cor 9:5
2. Vows protect a relationship
3. Vows motivate us to act
1 Lord, remember David
And all his afflictions;
2 How he swore to the Lord,
And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 “Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house,
Or go up to the comfort of my bed;
4 I will not give sleep to my eyes
Or slumber to my eyelids,
5 Until I find a place for the Lord,
A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
Psa 132:1-5

Making vows and pledges are an expression of our love.
Keeping vows and pledges are an expression of our commitment.
4. Vows move God into action
30 And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, “If You will indeed deliver the people of Ammon into my hands, 31 then it will be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord’s, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering.”

32 So Jephthah advanced toward the people of Ammon to fight against them, and the Lord delivered them into his hands.  Judges 11:30-32
