Purity

11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

God loved Job very much but wanted him to fully trust Him. So He allowed job to be tested.

If you trust God, you must abandon yourself into God’s care. God will never allow anything bad to happen to you without his permission.

Job 7 To be tested : refined through fire

But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10

If you want to clean gold on the inside, it has to be purified by fire! Only then could the impurities come up to the surface.

When we purify silver, the highest benchmark is when you can see your reflection in it! God purifies us until the image of Christ is formed in us. God wants to see Jesus in us.

Remember, it’s just a test! A test that your faith will not fail, and you will come out even stronger!
31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” Lk 22:31-32
Humility
The Midianites oppressed Israel for 7 years!
6 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years Judges 6:1

The children of Israel cried out, and God appointed Gideon to save them from the Midianites. So Gideon formed an army… but God said that it was too many!

Whoever is fearful let them go…
3 Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained. Judges 7:3

22,000 left, and 10,000 remained! But it was still too many. So next came the water test..

5 So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink.” 6 And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water. Judges 7:5-6

He was only left with 300.

Story of the Gentile (Matt 15:21)
A woman cried out to Jesus to heal her demon-possessed daughter, but He answered not a word. She kept crying out and Jesus said:

26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
He cant throw his healing to a dog. But look at what the woman said:

“Jesus i accept I’m a nobody but only you can heal my daughter…  Even the little dogs eat the scraps from the master’s table.. ”

She had an attitude of humility!

28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Dogs can express many emotions without uttering a single word. By how they look, how they act, how they smile..

We should be like them, towards God. We don’t have to say much, just be humble and want to be near God.

“Just with a generation of 300 humble men, I can save you!” says God.

7 Then the Lord said to Gideon, “By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place.Judges 7:7

Keep worshipping him, humbling yourself and Trusting Him, and He will exalt you.

V12 We are the mighty men of valour! So 300 men went to face the army of midianites.

19 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands. 7:19 – Sounded the horn and blues up the pitches, and showed their torches… All spiritual battles are psychological

The enemies panicked..  And were confused. Gideon was afraid of the enemies but in reality the enemies were even more afraid of Gideon!

22 When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp 7:22a – They started killing one another… All Gideon did was to blow the trumpets and blow the torch!

Only believe and if you believe you will see the glory of God. Choose faith,  not fear.  Keep your thoughts positive.

Thoughts. Visions. Dreams. Faith. Speaking… These are our spiritual weapons.

If you want to smear other people’s face with dirty, you first have to get your hands dirty. If you want to curse others, the curses have to first come out from your mouth, and you will be contaminated with them. Similarly if you bless others, you will also be blessed in your own life!

All spiritual battles are first won through your thoughts.

Unity
20 Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers—they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing—and they cried, “The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!” 7:20… The sword of the Lord AND of Gideon…

They walked by God…  But also with Gideon.  They believed in the leadership. Leaders are not perfect but God has appointed them to advance his Kingdom!

No matter how much the devil attacks the church from the outside, we will never fall. Only when the church fights itself will it fall. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. Prov 6:19

God hates discord!
