3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 1 Cor 15:3-5
V8 – born out of time – Paul wasn’t there when it all happened!
What was the key to transform Paul to become the most prominent person in his time?
Paul was a man given to Revelation.
It is the key to everything you want to do in life.
11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. Gal 1:11-12
Revelation, (Greek) Apokalupto : unveiling, uncovering to make something full, to reveal.
Most of the teachings were not taught but revealed and uncovered through revelations!
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. Gal 1:15-17 – to reveal his son in me…
Paul had a hunger for first hand revelation, not second hand revelation!
You need to have a first hand revelation, not ‘revelations’ based off other people’s experiences and revelations. God wants us to experience Jesus Christ personally!
2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 1 Cor 2:1-2 – Testimony means secrets and mysteries.
God is our..
-Great high priest
-Seated at the right hand of the Father
Where did Jesus learn all these? It wasn’t in the Bible at that time. He got it by Revelation!
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 1 Cor 11:23
For the first time someone called him the Son of God. It was through Revelation from heaven!
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matt 16:16
V17 – Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Until Peter got the revelation Jesus could not reveal to him the purpose of God coming to build the church. The church can only by built on the foundation of revelation!
V21 – 21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
From that point, Jesus’s relationship with them began to change. He showed them many things.
If you want to build the church, you got to build it on Revelation. You got to spend time with God, spend time on your knees.
Revelation and vision will build your business, career, life, everything. Not education.
16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding[a] being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints Eph 1:16-18
Knowledge is Epiginosko in greek. It is made up of the below:
Gr. Eido – discover our perceive something
Gr. Ginosko – know by experience or physical contact
Eido and Ginosko together will give you..
Gr. Epiginosko full thorough accurate knowledge of Jesus Christ, such that your whole life will be profoundly changed.
13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; Eph 4:13 – Personal knowledge..
If you want to be spiritually mature, you need to have Revelation. Be so close to God that you know what he wants you to do and his calling for your life.
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. Rev 1:17-18 – to John at that moment, he was the Christ of glory.
It was so life changing that he called it the book of Revelation!
Dedication not born out of revelation will never last. Don’t pray for more dedication, but for more Revelation.
If God suddenly speaks to you, reveals to you… It speaks of a closeness to him, a deep union. He walks with you, He talks to you, He shows himself to you. The moment you have Revelation you will never fall away.
And it’s not just a one-time thing… you can have many revelations, many times!
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 2 Cor 12:7 – Abundance of revelations…
You can be educated and rich but you are no threat to Satan. Only with Revelation does he know you are powerful enough to threaten him!
8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Cor 12:8-10
The more revelations you have, the stronger you are under fire. Nothing will withstand you!
10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. 13 Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. Eph 3:10-13
61 Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Seek God for your revelation today!
