Take Off The Shoes

20 Apr 2013 Service – Kong Hee

I want the love that cannot help but love; loving, like God, for very sake of love. A B Simpson

18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Eph 3:18-19

2 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Exo 3:2
Maybe you are feeling drained, tired, emotionally and physically; your vision is gone. But the presence of the Holy Spirit is preventing you from burning out!

We don’t burn out, but keep on burning on for Jesus.

4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”

And he said, “Here I am.”

5 Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”

When he took off his shoes,he could feel the holiness of God, he could sense the presence of the Holy Spirit.

It is a sign of humility and respect.
Taking off your shoes symbolises 3 things:

  1. Touch me
Take off your shoes and touch me. Touch what?

19 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Exo 33:19 – God showed him his goodness, grace and compassion.

When you touch him,you touch his love, His goodness grace and compassion.

Recall the woman with the issue of blood! She just needed to touch Him and she was healed!

One touch from Jesus is all you need.

15 Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so. Josh 5:15

  1. Trust me
    Let go,let God.
Slow down, just trust in Him.
    Don’t be afraid, only believe.

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” Mk 5:36

  1. Take all of me
Surrendering your rights – Jesus take all of us!
7 Now this was the custom in former times in Israel concerning redeeming and exchanging, to confirm anything: one man took off his sandal and gave it to the other, and this was a confirmation in Israel. Ruth 4:7

Love Jesus generously. Love him trustfully without looking back and without fear -Mother Teresa

I accept whatever he gives, and gives whatever he takes. -Mother Teresa
