Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

02 Mar 2013 Service – Kong Hee

12 It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord: 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven.4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 2 Cor 12:1-2,4

Paul unlocked the mysteries of “in christ”!

6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, Eph 2:6

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philip 4:13

10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. Col 2:10
There’s so many things we don’t know in God,so we need revelation!
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Eph 1:17-23

We got to have a clear picture of who we are, and what Christ has done for us, even if it doesn’t seem so.
I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength! Eph1:18 [MSG]

12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. Gal1:12

What do we need revelation for?

#1 Your Calling
18 Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]—blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he. Prov 29:18 [AMP]

14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:14

We have a new calling because we are a new creature, we have a new identity.

#2 Inheritance
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Cor 8:9

Equal position means equal possession!

#3 Authority
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power Eph 1:19

Exceeding: huperballo, throw beyond any limits
Power: dunamis, ability
Working: energia, energy
Mighty: ischus, might
Power: kratos,strength

We have authority over the devil!
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 Jn 3:8

How to have the spirit of wisdom and revelation?

1) Repetition of the Word
Revelation comes only thru repetition!
6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 1 Cor 3:6

A tree can only grow through repeated waterings. Don’t reject the watering process!

2) Yieldedness to the Holy Spirit
If you want the Holy Spirit to help you, you have to be a child. The Holy Spirit won’t help you if you think you know enough and don’t want his help!

3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Psa24:3-5

3) Confession of our mouth
Keep confessing His Word daily!
