Providence & Expectation Preparation
16 Feb 2013 Service – Bobby Chaw & Aries Zulkarnain
Providence: “God is actively preserving the existence of his creation, guiding and directing the course of events to fulfill the purposes which he has intended.” -Millard J Erickson
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore. Psa 121:4-8
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. Col 1:17
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Heb 1:3
Nothing happens by chance, our lives are in the hands of God!
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. Jn 10:27-29
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:35,38-39
“So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?” Rom 8:31 [MSG]
When temptations come…
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Cor 10:13
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; Philip 1:6
Don’t give up on ur relationships, marriage, dreams, ambitions, etc.
If you stay committed, God will preserve, maintain and sustain you!
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psa 5:3 [NIV]
We often confess, and expect for our miracles and breakthroughs.
Expectation precedes miracles.
But while we should expect our miracles, we should also prepare for it!
3 O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. Psa5:3 [ESV] – David says, in his expectation for his miracle, he is preparing himself for the miracle.
6 So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God. 2 Chr 27:6
The degree of your preparation must be the same as the degree of your expectations!
7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Heb 11:7
Moved with godly fear: The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. Prov 15:33
Godly fear is wisdom! To be prepared is to obtain wisdom and instructions from God!
Wisdom of the lord is hearing his word and obey him
1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. Psa 1:1-3
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Prov 4:20-22
31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord. Prov 21:31
1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” 3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’” Matt 3 :1-3
Prepare the way of the lord.. He has to be that “voice”.
To prepare the horse, you need to become the voice.. Of prayer.
Prayer is powerful! The children of Israel cried out to God!
23 Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. 24 So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them. Exo2:23-25
When you meet crisis, get into Christ-mode!
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Psa 50:15
