The Name of Jesus

The Name of Jesus

8 Dec 2012 Service – John Avanzini

The preaching was about how to USE the name of Jesus Christ
But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.
Acts 8:12

The Name of Jesus Christ is a weapon that will scare the devil every time! Use it!

5 And it came to pass, on the next day, that their rulers, elders, and scribes, 6 as well as Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, “By what power or by what name have you done this?”

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. Acts 4:5-10

The Name of Jesus Christ being given to you is a power of attorney. With his name you have all the power, authority and resources of God!
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask[a] anything in My name, I will do it. Jn 14:12-14

11 When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” Acts 21:11

Learn how to use the Name of Jesus Christ to do the things that Jesus Christ can and would do.
Ask that your joy may be full!
24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. Jn 16:24
